Black Kold MadinaWhen Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005, Kimberly Rivers Roberts and her husband, cat, dog, and several other family members rode out the storm in the attic of their home. Kim filmed it, and the whole story was told in last year’s incredibly powerful documentary Trouble the Water. Kim is also a singer, and her hip-hop debut came out recently under the pseudonym “Black Kold Madina”. We’ll give a listen to it this week on World of Music, along with a bunch of new releases from all over, including Egypt, Spain, Tanzania, Argentina, and China! Listen to “World of Music” online (Mondays, 3-5pm EDT) or at 105.9FM in Burlington, VT.

One Response to “amazing”

I just finished watching Mrs. Roberts and her husband’s documentary! I was stunned, she and her family and friends are truly AMAZING!!! I actually stop and restarted the documentary so that my 23, 19, 18 and 17 year olds could watch it also! Like me, they were stunned into silence!

I just want to know why I am not hearing so much more about Kim and Robert???!!! Kim is AMAZING and she has a flow about her that is stunning. You can see her inner strengths so much that she is now right up there with the Obamas as a person I would love to meet!! Kim may God bless you and your family and may all your dreams come true!!! So sorry about “Baby”.
