"Thrufters and Throughstones", 400 years of Vermont music

Yesterday’s CD release party at the waterfront unveiled a recording years in the making. Four hundred years!

“Thrufters and Throughstones” is the ambitious new anthology of Vermont’s “first four hundred years of music”, with earliest selections from the native Abenaki Indians and most recent ones from contemporaries Anais Mitchell and Pete Sutherland.

This week on World of Music we’ll sample from that long history and hear from the usual selection of the best world music releases, new and classic. Listen to “World of Music” online (Mondays, 3-5pm EDT) or at 105.9FM in Burlington, VT.
