freshly ground

I opened the mail today and discovered the latest recording from South Africa’s funky Freshlyground waiting there. That’s cool, I’ve been wanting to check them out since I found out they’re coming to Burlington this July. And, that makes a great title for this week’s World of Music.

We’re going to add that one to a box of CDs recently received from the Nacional Records label, shake it up and call it a show.

Other “freshly ground” sounds this time around include Los Amigos Invisibles from Venezuela, Putumayo’s groovy new Bossa Nova Around the World, and several interesting recent ARC Music collections from Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Macedonia.

World of Music is an eclectic borscht of blues, jazz, poetry, and international music every Monday from 3-5pm ET on the Radiator.  Online, or at 105.9FM if you’re listening in Burlington, VT.
